The book was magnificent. It really lays out, with no holds barred, what Dianne, you and family and friends went through. But it is anything but morbid or whiney. Your very careful explanation of what people say at the various awkward times was instructive, without being offensive. People mean well, but they don’t always say helpful things. The faith of Dianne, you and your family shines through. It is kind of a handbook on how to die right. It was a good meditation as Holy Week approaches. The Acolytes who brought Dianne communion obviously grew in faith through their interaction with Dianne. I wish I had known her, although I do through this well written book/meditation. Great job writing and being a faithful (to God and Dianne) spouse.

Normally I'm not a big fan of this type of literature, I'm more of a detective fiction, Goth Noir sort of guy, but this book really hit home. Despite never meeting her, I feel like I really know Dianne now. Jim's words come from a place of pure compassion and love, you can feel his energy in every paragraph.
Jim takes tragedy and forms it into something beautiful. I have the utmost respect for his ability to craft an exquisite flowing narrative. Dianne's Blessings will change your life, with its honest down to earth story of how one woman refused to let cancer bring her down. David Leonhardt |
Wow, Jim, what a beautiful well written book! I ordered five copies and just got them and started thumbing my way through the book and found myself an hour later with tears streaming down my cheek an thinking how fortunate I am to have met both you and Dianne and what a huge impact you both have made on me!
